Green Dreams for the Planet Foundation was incorporated in 2015 as a Section 25 (Not-for-profit) company. The vision is to take forward the principles, processes, and practices of ‘applied sustainability’ and promote advocacy in the space of climate change and sustainability. Green Dreams for the Planet Foundation hopes to be a catalyst in bringing about large-scale awareness and preparedness to face climate change and to adopt sustainable practices that will have an impact on the world.
The Climate Reality Project is a diverse group of passionate individuals who come together under the leadership of the Nobel Laureate & Former US Vice President, Al Gore, to help solve the greatest challenge of our time. Today we know that climate disruption is the biggest challenge that humanity is facing. We also know that burning fossil fuels is one of the biggest causes for this climate change. CB Ramkumar is an author, speaker, trainer, consultant and an entrepreneur. Ram is a Board Member of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council., and the Regional Representative for South Asia. After spending two decades as an advertising and marketing professional, Ram came back to India and founded Our Native Village, a 100% eco resort just outside Bangalore. With no background in sustainability, Ram’s dream of developing a fully sustainable living model was put to test with Our Native Village. Ram has authored a book ‘Green Dreams’ on sustainability and is a regular speaker at sustainability conferences and seminars. Ram is a Climate Leader having undergone training under the former US Vice President, Al Gore.
Dr. Ganeshram’s is the Personal Chair of Geochemistry in the School of Geosciences, at the University of Edinburg. His research interests lie in Marine biogeochemistry & palaeo-oceanography, Global Change and Biogeochemistry of polar sea ice environments, Tropical Climate variability on glacial-interglacial to decadal time scales, amongst a host of other topics. The school of Geosciences is one of the largest and most successful interdisciplinary groupings of geographers and geoscientists in the UK, with a community of staff, students and researchers passionately committed to understanding the impact of climate on the Earth’s systems, the environment and ecosystems, as well as the social, economic, cultural and political implications for society.
Sanjay’s experience spans retail banking across products, multiple emerging markets and diverse customer segments. Recently worked with Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, as Chief Business Officer and Head of HR. Prior to that he worked with in UAE, Dunia Finance. Earlier, he was Head of Consumer Finance for RBS Asia responsible for India, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Pakistan. He held senior leadership roles with Citibank in Asia Pacific, over nearly two decades, based in Indonesia, Singapore, and Egypt, Sanjay also worked with Mashreqbank as Head of Marketing in UAE between 2001-2003. Sanjay started his career with Lipton India (Unilever). He holds a Business Management degree (PGDM) from IIM Calcutta and B Tech (Chem Engg) from IIT-BHU.
Seshadri has been associated with publishing, schools & education from the start of his career at Oxford University Press India. After 25 years in OUP, he joined Dorling Kindersley, India, serving as Executive Director and played a key role in the company’s revamp strategy. He was head of Lonely Planet India and played a pivotal role in its entry into the Indian market. He was the Founder Director at Textech (now Jouve India) that specializes in providing academic solutions in the form of books and ebooks that enable publishers to create, manage, repurpose, and distribute content. Seshadri is currently Vice-President, Association of Publishers in India (API). He has the privilege of having visited 3000 schools and counting.
Ms Nivedita Mukerjee is an education advisor for schools, higher education institutions and ed-tech companies. She is a master trainer with CENTA, Center for Teacher Accreditation. Over the last 3 decades, Nivedita has taught life sciences, genetics and communication in high school and college, co-founded a Post Graduate Institute of Media studies, an IB world school and helped set up a private University in Bangalore, India. A fourth-generation educator, Nivedita has been a research scientist, a journalist with Doordarshan (National Television), Zee and CNBC Asia before switching completely to be an educator, writer and speaker on education-related matters. Nivedita publishes a popular weekly bulletin aimed at parents, students and educators.
Ignatius Raphael has over 30 years of experience in printing, publishing, animation, content generation and management. He was instrumental in developing a K-12 Life Skills curriculum in 2010-11 to run within the school curriculum as well as an after-school program. He is a third-gen entrepreneur who has been a printer, author, publisher, graphic designer, branding consultant, content specialist, Operation Head in an Animation company, Director of an Adventure & OBT company and a start-up strategy consultant for business owners. He is the author of the book “Deep Sleep Formula (Sleep by 10 pm and wake up by 5 am)” and helps thousands of people to take charge of their sleep and their life.
